Job summary

Northside Hospital in Atlanta-area is seeking a Medical Technologist II to develop and monitor test systems and perform and interpret laboratory tests across neonatal to geriatric ages.

Required qualifications include degrees in lab science and MLS/CLS certification, plus potential Military program recognition; color-acuity screening is also required. One year of clinical lab experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or equivalent and eligibility for certification.
• Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology with MLS/CLS certification.
• Military program graduate with MLS/CLS certification.
• Grandfathered technologist with MLS/CLS certification as of Feb 28, 1992.
• One year clinical laboratory experience.
• Color-Acuity screening test.

The Medical Technologist II develops and monitors test systems and performs and interprets laboratory tests for the diagnosis and care of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

REQUIRED

1. Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and applicants must be eligible for an appropriate certification examination.
   1. Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)
2. Associates Degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
   1. Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)
3. Graduate of a Military Program in Science (health science, biology, chemical, physical, medical technology) and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist
4. Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR

1. Grandfathered Medical Technologist by having previously qualified as a technologist on or before February 28, 1992 and current certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist. 1.Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW

2. Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.
