Job summary

Candidates must hold an accredited degree in laboratory science or medical technology with eligibility for certification, plus applicable certifications. A Color-Acuity screening is required for this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with eligibility for certification exam (ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS/HEW).
• Associates degree with certification as Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
• Military program graduate with required certification.
• Grandfathered Medical Technologist with current certification.
• Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Performs and interprets laboratory tests in the Clinical Laboratory for diverse patients (neonate to geriatric).
• Must submit to a Color-Acuity screening Test.

Education

Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical lab science or medical technology

Associates Degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology

Graduate of a Military Program in Science with certification as Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist

Grandfathered Medical Technologist status with prior qualification

Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to standards and regulations

Performs and interprets laboratory tests in the Clinical Laboratory for the diagnosis and care of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

REQUIRED

1. Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and applicants must be eligible for an appropriate certification examination.
   1. Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)
2. Associates Degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
   1. Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)
3. Graduate of a Military Program in Science (health science, biology, chemical, physical, medical technology) and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist. 1. Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)
4. Grandfathered Medical Technologist by having previously qualified as a technologist on or before February 28, 1992 and current certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist. 1. 1. Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.

Experience in a Clinical Laboratory Setting
