Job summary

Northside Hospital is seeking a Medical Technologist II to develop and monitor test systems, and to perform and interpret laboratory tests for the care of patients across all ages. The role requires appropriate certification and a Color-Acuity screening test.

Candidates may have a Bachelor's or Associate’s degree with MT/MLS/CLS certification, or be a Military program graduate with certification. Experience in clinical laboratories is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology and eligibility for certification.
• Associates Degree in laboratory science with MT/MLS/CLS certification.
• Graduate of a Military Program in Science with MT/MLS/CLS certification.
• Grandfathered Medical Technologist with MT/MLS/CLS certification.
• One year of experience in a clinical laboratory.
• Must submit to a Color-Acuity screening test.

The Medical Technologist II develops and monitors test systems and performs and interprets laboratory tests for the diagnosis and care of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

REQUIRED

1. Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and applicants must be eligible for an appropriate certification examination.
   1. Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR

1. Associates Degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
   1. Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR

1. Graduate of a Military Program in Science (health science, biology, chemical, physical, medical technology) and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist
2. Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR

1. Grandfathered Medical Technologist by having previously qualified as a technologist on or before February 28, 1992 and current certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist. 1.Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW

2. Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.
