Job summary

Northside Hospital in Atlanta seeks a Medical Technologist II to develop and monitor test systems and perform and interpret laboratory tests across neonatal to geriatric patients. Eligible MT/MLS/CLS certification required; multiple pathways listed for education and certification, including military programs.

A Color-Acuity screening is required. Candidates should have one year of clinical lab experience and be able to adhere to standards and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology; must be eligible for cert exam.
• Associates Degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology with certification as MT/MLS/CLS; cert agencies listed.
• Military program in health science with MT/MLS/CLS certification.
• Grandfathered MT with current MT/MLS/CLS certification (as of 1992).

The Medical Technologist II develops and monitors test systems and performs and interprets laboratory tests for the diagnosis and care of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

REQUIRED

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and applicants must be eligible for an appropriate certification examination.
  • Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR

• Associates Degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
  • Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR

• Graduate of a Military Program in Science (health science, biology, chemical, physical, medical technology) and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist
• Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR

• Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.
