Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician in Wisconsin to perform, evaluate, and monitor laboratory tests following established protocols. The role includes calibration of instruments, quality control, and rapid reporting of results for critical care areas.

A 7-on/7-off 3rd shift rotation is required with a $5,000 sign-on bonus. Requirements include an Associate's Degree in Clinical Lab Technician and MLT certification within 1 year (ASCP BOC or AMT).

Responsibilities

• Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests as authorized within established protocols.
• Evaluates results for clinical significance, validity and appropriateness and reports according to policy.
• Performs calibration and maintenance of instruments and equipment; conducts quality control.
• Recognizes indicators of instrument malfunction and takes corrective action.
• Collects specimens from newborn, pediatric, and adult patients according to protocol.
• Provides technical assistance to Phlebotomists and staff.
• Supports quality improvements and compliance with accrediting standards.
• Performs testing across transfusion services, microbiology, chemistry, hematology, histology, coagulation, and flow cytometry.
• Provides rapid, accurate results for critical care departments during high acuity events.
• Adapts care to age-specific needs and follows department standards.
