Job summary

505 Aurora Health Care, Inc. seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician at ACL Laboratories in Manitowoc County, WI. This full-time position offers 36 hours per week with a 7-on, 7-off 3rd shift schedule and a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

You will perform, monitor and evaluate laboratory tests, ensure timely reporting, maintain instruments, and support phlebotomists and staff while upholding patient confidentiality. Requires an Associate's Degree in Clinical Lab Technician; MLT certification within 1 year;

• Demonstrates willingness to work a flexible schedule, which may include alternate site assignment.

Responsibilities

• Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests as authorized within established protocols, selecting and performing additional procedures when indicated.
• Monitors workflow and makes necessary adjustments to complete work in an appropriate timeframe.
• Evaluates results for clinical significance, validity and appropriateness.
• Follows prescribed policy in the reporting and notification of test results.
• Performs and documents calibration and maintenance of instruments and equipment.
• Performs and documents quality control; evaluates quality control results and takes corrective action when indicated.
• Recognizes indicators of test and/or instrument malfunction and makes basic corrections by using prescribed strategies, or notifies the Medical Technologist, site coordinator or supervisor.
