Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Medical Laboratory Technician in Wisconsin for 20 hours per week, primarily 2nd shift into 3rd (~14:30–03:00) with some weekend and holiday coverage. Requires an Associate's Degree in Clinical Lab Technician or related field and MLT certification within 1 year (ASCP BOC or AMT).

Responsibilities

• Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests within established protocols
• Evaluates results for clinical significance and reports appropriately
• Performs calibration, maintenance, and quality control of instruments
• Detects instrument issues and initiates corrective actions
• Collects specimens from newborn to adult patients per protocol
• Provides technical assistance to Phlebotomists and support staff
• Supports quality improvement, accreditation standards, and turn-around times
• Performs specialized testing across transfusion services, microbiology, chemistry, hematology, histology, coagulation, and flow cytometry
• Delivers timely, accurate results to critical care departments during high acuity events
