JobDiva, Inc. is seeking a Medical Surgical RN for the Winston-Salem, NC area for a 13-week contract on the night shift. Assignment includes Med/Surg and Telemetry coverage with chest tubes, trachs, and high-acuity patients.

Night shift runs 12 hours (1900-0700), with weekend rotation and holiday coverage. Validation includes NIHSS, ACLS/BLS, and Epic EMR experience; hospitalist/RT support available 24/7.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years Med Surg experience
• BLS, ACLS required
• NIHSS (Resource Team) required
• Telemetry interpretation experience recommended

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care in Med Surg/Telemetry units.
• Monitor telemetry, respond to arrhythmias, and document care.
• Assist with tubes/drains and PCA pump management as needed.

Unit Information:

• Beds: 24

Minimum Years of Experience required: 2 years MST

• Will you accept a first-time traveler: Yes, dependent on experience. Must have a strong background in MST

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

• General Medicine - DM, GI, Resp, Renal, Wounds/Dressing Changes, chest tubes, trachs, lab draws required

Patient Ratios:

• RN: 5-6:1
• CNA: 8:1

Required Licensure & Certifications:

• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (Resource Team requirement)

Skills required:

• Ability to provide direct and indirect patient care, strong interpersonal communication skills, ability to work collaboratively, solid written and oral communication skills, ability to tolerate moderate to high stress levels, and experience reading telemetry strips
• Chest tubes, traches, PIV starts, drain & tubes, PCA pumps
• Gtts management - Amiodarone (occasionally), Fentanyl PCA, Ketamine PCA, Dilaudid PCA, Heparin
