Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

• General Medicine – Geriatric related diagnosis, DM, GI, Resp, Renal, Wounds, Dressing Changes. 65 patients, functional, community dwellers. Big on mobilization. Bed turns over 3-4

Patient Ratios:

• RN: 5-6:1
• CNA: 8:1

Required Licensure & Certifications:

• BLS

Skills required:

• Ability to provide direct and indirect patient care, strong interpersonal communication skills, ability to work collaboratively, solid written and oral communication skills, ability to tolerate moderate to high stress levels, and experience reading telemetry strips
• MS: strong IV skills, time management, sign tele strips q shift
• Familiar with age familiar

• CNA: Provides basic nursing care to assigned patients and assist RN where needed
• Receptionist/HUC

• IV/VAT Team: No
• Rapid Response Team
• RT 24/7 - available but not housed on the unit
• Telemetry monitoring/tech: Centralized Telemetry
