Job summary

Concentra is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to perform routine medical testing under clinician supervision and support in registration and referral management. You will deliver quality patient care in a fast-paced environment while ensuring a positive patient experience from welcoming staff.

Responsibilities include DOT testing, preparing patients, assisting clinicians, performing routine procedures, dispensing medications as ordered, handling documentation, and ensuring HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with externship preferred, or ≥1 year direct patient care as a medical assistant.
• Must meet state-specific credentials for employment.
• Military medical specialist experience accepted per state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Prepare patients for physical exams including vital signs and ancillary testing.
• Conduct rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose).
• Assist providers during examination and treatment.
• Triage emergent patients and perform routine procedures as ordered.
• Prepare and assist with procedure setup and injury care.
• Apply bandages, dressings, and splints as ordered.
• Dispense medications and DME per clinician orders and state rules.
• Maintain equipment and QA for devices and testing processes.
• Stock rooms and maintain cleanliness and organization.
• Calibrate and document use of medical devices.
• Notify supervisor if equipment fails or supplies needed.
• Support patient flow and communicate wait times.
