Job summary

Concentra in Philadelphia is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (PRN) to support clinicians with routine medical testing, patient prep, and front/back office duties in a fast-paced clinic. The MSS will perform DOT and non-DOT tests, assist during exams, manage supplies, and ensure HIPAA-compliant documentation while delivering a high-quality patient experience.

This role may transition to more available shifts starting around August.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Externship in an accredited medical assistant program preferred, or at least one year of direct patient care experience.
• CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Prepare patients for physical examinations, including vital signs and ancillary testing.
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, glucose, etc.).
• Assist providers during examination and treatment.
• Triage emergent patients and perform routine medical procedures as ordered.
• Prepare and assist clinician with procedure setup and injury care.
• Apply bandages, dressings and splints as ordered.
• Dispense medications and DME as ordered by the clinician in accordance with state regulations.
• Complete quality assurance activities on equipment and medical devices and testing processes.
• Maintain supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and stock exam rooms.
