Job summary

Concentra is hiring a Medical Support Specialist to perform routine medical testing and support patient care under clinician supervision. The role combines clinical tasks with front-office duties, ensuring efficient patient flow and accurate documentation.

You will prepare patients, assist clinicians, and conduct screenings while maintaining HIPAA compliance and a high standard of customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with externship preferred or at least 1 year of direct patient care experience, or military medical specialist experience.
• Knowledge of medical procedures and terminology; occupational medicine knowledge preferred.
• Ability to handle confidential information per HIPAA and state laws.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT and non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Prepare patients for exams, take vital signs, and assist with testing including vaccines and phlebotomy.
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, glucose, etc.).
• Assist providers during examination and treatment.
• Triage and manage routine and emergent conditions as directed by clinicians.
• Document accurately and maintain patient records; front-office tasks as needed.
