Brown University Health is seeking an organized front desk/office coordinator to support physicians and staff in Providence. You will answer phones, schedule appointments, check patients in and out, and coordinate referrals while upholding compassionate service and the organization’s values.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, check patients in and out from their appointment and coordinate specialist appointments for patients
  • Collect patient balances, copays, and credit cards at time of service
  • Review lists of patients who need appointments and calls to schedule when due
  • Verify demographics and insurance carrier information for every patient
  • Assist patients with Kiosk sign in
  • Comply with OSHA and DOH standards
  • Schedule, coordinate, and track STAT patient referrals and pre-authorizations
  • Adhere to Brown Health Medical Group Primary Care guidelines for protecting patients’ demographic, clinical and financial information
  • Provide superior customer service and outstanding patient care
  • Attend meetings/workshops as they relate to current position and office workflows
  • Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

  • Responsible for answering phones, scheduling appointments, checking patients in and out from their appointment and coordinating specialist appointments for patients

Minimum Qualifications

BASIC KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge normally acquired through completion of two-year Medical Office Management/Medical Secretary program or equivalent experience in a physician’s medical office practice. Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span, with consideration of aging processes, human development stages, and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.

Experience

Two years’ experience in a physician’s medical office practice. Proficient in English language and computer appointment scheduling skills; Familiarity with medical office procedures and medical terminology. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Pay Range

$18.13-$29.90
