Purpose of Job
This position is responsible for creating a positive first impression for patients, ensuring complete and accurate registration and scheduling, and performing various administrative duties.
Job Functions
- Efficiently register patients in person or via phone, capturing and verifying all required information to identify the patient, contact them, and ensure proper reimbursement for services on initial claim submission.
- Complete pre-visit planning to ensure a seamless patient experience.
- Assign the appropriate Guarantor for each patient.
- Greet patients and provide courteous customer service to internal and external customers.
- Ensure patients receive necessary disclosures, privacy information, and sign the Consent to Treat documentation.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefit information using real-time eligibility tools; review insurer responses and take appropriate actions to ensure correct insurance plans and billing addresses are entered.
- Collect financial obligations from patients and/or refer them to Patient Financial Services for financial counseling.
- Use resources, tools, and procedures to complete accounts in assigned work queues.
- Coordinate requests for the release of medical information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
