Position Overview:
The Medical Receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming experience while supporting front desk operations and administrative workflows.
Responsibilities of the Medical Receptionist:
- Manage high-volume front desk operations in a fast-paced, multi-location medical practice.
- Greet patients professionally and facilitate efficient check-in and check-out processes.
- Answer and direct incoming calls, addressing patient inquiries with exceptional customer service.
- Schedule, confirm, and coordinate appointments across multiple office locations.
- Verify insurance coverage, collect necessary patient information, and maintain accurate records.
- Prepare and organize patient charts, referrals, imaging, and other documentation prior to appointments.
- Process payments, maintain financial records, and support daily administrative functions.
- Monitor patient flow, coordinate with clinical staff, and ensure smooth day-to-day office operations.
Required Experience/Skills for the Medical Receptionist:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, with the ability to create a welcoming experience for patients and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other healthcare technology platforms.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail when managing patient information, scheduling, and administrative responsibilities.
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining professionalism and delivering exceptional service.
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel between office locations as needed.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities throughout the day.
- Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to supporting office operations and contributing to a positive patient experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical receptionist, patient services representative, front desk coordinator, or similar healthcare administrative role required.
