Northwell Health seeks a Medical Practice Patient Representative for the Float Team in Danbury, CT, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm. The role provides clerical and administrative support for patient care in a medical practice.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, verifying demographics and insurance, handling calls and messages, registering and scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate EMR records with strict compliance and dependable attendance.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Microsoft Office Suite experience preferred; data entry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients upon arrival and communicates pleasantly.
• Verifies patient demographics and insurance information.
• Answers phones, routes calls, takes messages, and updates EMR.
• Registers and schedules appointments, tests, and referrals.
• Schedules and reschedules appointments per office protocols.
• Monitors applications and manages worklists as applicable.
• Collects co-pays and reconciles deposits.
• Obtains and coordinates record retrieval for new and established patients.
• Performs intake and processing of medical records and other documentation.

Summary:

Provides clerical and administrative support and coordinates the patient care activities for medical practice.

Responsibilities:

• Greets and welcomes patients upon arrival and communicates pleasantly and effectively.
• Ensures accuracy of patient's information, including demographics and insurance.
• Answers phones, routes call, takes messages, and assures accurate communication both verbally and via the EMR system.
• Registers, verifies, and schedules patient appointments, testing, and referrals.
• Schedules and reschedules appointments according to office protocols.
• Monitors applications and manage worklists as applicable.
• Collects co-pays and reconciles money for deposit.
• Obtains and coordinates record retrieval for new and established patients.
• Performs intake and processing of medical records and other documentation where applicable.
• Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

Education Skills Experience:

Required: High School graduate or equivalent. Microsoft Office Suite experience preferred, Data Entry, Excellent Communication Skills (written and verbal). Minimum Experience: Six months.

Other Information:

Salary Range: $18.13 - $34.50 Hourly
