Northwell is seeking a Medical Practice Patient Representative for the Neurology department in Norwalk, CT. This full-time, weekday position supports patient care through clerical and administrative duties in a medical practice.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, verifying demographics and insurance, scheduling appointments and testing, managing referrals, and handling cash deposits with accurate records.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of customer-related experience required.
• Healthcare experience of 1+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes patients upon arrival and communicates pleasantly and effectively.
• Ensures accuracy of patient information, including demographics and insurance.
• Answers phones, routes calls, takes messages, and ensures accurate communication with the EMR system.
• Registers, verifies, and schedules patient appointments, testing, and referrals.
• Schedules and reschedules appointments according to office protocols.
• Monitors applications and manages worklists as applicable.
• Collects co-pays and reconciles money for deposit.
• Obtains and coordinates record retrieval for new and established patients.
• Performs intake and processing of medical records and other documentation.
• Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• Maintains and models the organization values.
• Demonstrates regular, dependable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Summary:

Provides clerical and administrative support and coordinates the patient care activities for medical practice.

Education Required:

Salary Range: $18.13 - $34.50 Hourly
