Job summary

Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician to perform a range of clinical tests and support quality control. This role involves instrument operation, data interpretation, and ensuring accuracy of results within established protocols.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, follow safety standards, and contribute to continuous improvement in laboratory procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
• MLS/AMT or ASCP certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of clinical laboratory tests and related duties.
• Conduct quality control, calibration, and instrument maintenance.
• Identify and recheck abnormal results and alert appropriate staff.
• Communicate lab data accurately to departments and staff.
• Provide guidance and training to new employees on equipment/procedures.
