Job summary
Avera Queen of Peace in Mitchell, South Dakota is hiring a Medical Laboratory Technician/MLS to join our multidisciplinary team. The role performs clinical laboratory tests and engages in instrument maintenance, quality control, and CQI activities in rotating day/evening/night shifts.
Requirements include an Associate’s degree or Technical Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology and certification (AMT/ASCP) within 1 year. PTO from day one and competitive benefits are offered.
Qualifications
- Associate's Transcript showing Medical Laboratory Technology degree or Technical Certificate Transcript showing Medical Laboratory Technology degree.
- MLT certification: AMT or ASCP within 1 year of hire.
Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of clinical laboratory tests, procedures and related duties following established procedures.
- Initiates and follows through with corrective action; prioritizes and manages workflow.
- Communicates laboratory data to appropriate departments and providers in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintains quality control, calibration and instrument maintenance; participates in CQI activities.
- Provides instructions on pre-analytical specimen collection and handling as needed.
