Job summary

Northside Hospital, Inc. seeks a Medical Technologist II to develop and monitor laboratory test systems and perform/interpret tests for neonate through geriatric patients.

The role requires a lab science degree (or MLS/MLT) with current certification eligibility and at least 1 year of clinical lab experience. The position is on-site in Atlanta, with 0700–1530 hours and rotating weekends; color-acuity screening is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology.
• Associates degree plus MLS/MLT/CLS certification accepted.
• Military program graduate with MLS/CLS certification accepted.
• Grandfathered MT with current MLS/CLS certification (per cert agencies).
• Minimum 1 year clinical lab experience.
• Must pass Color-Acuity screening test.

Responsibilities

The Medical Technologist II develops and monitors test systems and performs and interprets laboratory tests for the diagnosis and care of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and applicants must be eligible for an appropriate certification examination.
  • Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR

• Associates Degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
  • Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR

• Graduate of a Military Program in Science (health science, biology, chemical, physical, medical technology) and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist
• Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR

• Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.
