Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Medical Lab Technician to conduct routine and specialized tests on blood, body fluids, and other specimens. You will perform moderate to high-complexity analyses, maintain equipment, ensure QC, and document results for accurate patient diagnoses.

You will collect specimens, follow phlebotomy procedures, and report critical results under LIS. Collaboration with clinicians and ongoing training for students are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Requires an associate degree or military equivalent.
• 1 0-2 years clinical lab experience preferred.
• Military Medical Laboratory Procedures training may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived, moderate, and high-complexity tests following procedures.
• Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots lab equipment; performs PMs.
• Performs quality control and documents corrective actions.
• Documents results in LIS and reports critical findings.
• Collects blood specimens via venipuncture and capillary techniques.
• Mentors students and new staff; participates in training.
• Maintains attendance and complies with policies.
