Community Health Systems, Inc. seeks a Medical Technologist I to perform routine and high-complexity laboratory tests with minimal supervision, ensuring accurate results and quality control. The role may include teaching staff and performing phlebotomy duties as needed.

The candidate should hold a Bachelor's in Medical Technology or related field, and possess CLS certs (ASCP/AMT/AAB) with 0–2 years of acute care experience. Full-time, on-site position with rotating shifts and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• Passing score on the Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency examination approved by HHS (HEW).
• 0-2 years of acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and high complexity tests accurately with timely reporting and proper documentation.
• Adheres to quality control procedures, analyzes data, and takes corrective actions when needed.
• Performs instrument function checks and preventative maintenance as required.
• Troubleshoots instrument malfunctions and notifies appropriate personnel.
• Ensures safety compliance and use of PPE per Laboratory Safety Plan.
• Communicates results and issues clearly with staff and supervisors.
