Job summary

Community Health Systems seeks a Medical Lab Technician to perform routine and specialty diagnostics on blood and body fluids, supporting timely patient care. The role requires execution of moderate and high-complexity tests, strict QC, and adherence to regulatory standards in a clinical lab setting.

The MLT will maintain equipment, operate LIS, assist with phlebotomy, and document results with attention to safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required or military equivalency with 50 weeks of training.
• MLT certification or eligibility plus state licensure where applicable.
• 0–2 years acute care lab experience expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate and high-complexity tests on specimens.
• Adhere to quality control protocols and document results.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments; perform maintenance as needed.
• Utilize LIS for data entry and result reporting.
• Collect and document chain-of-custody urine drug screens.
• Follow safety regulations and wear PPE.
• Assist with phlebotomy and team tasks.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with regulations.
• Perform other duties and maintain reliable attendance.
• Comply with all policies and standards.
