Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Medical Lab Technician to perform routine and specialized diagnostic tests on blood, body fluids, and other specimens.

You will ensure accuracy, quality control, and timely reporting while maintaining equipment and safety standards in a hospital lab environment. The role requires an associate degree or military lab training, MLT certification, and state licensure where applicable.

Qualifications

• Requires an associate degree or military laboratory training.
• MLT certification is required (e.g., ASCP, AMT, AAB, HEW) or equivalent.
• State licensure where applicable is required

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and high-complexity laboratory tests accurately and reports results with proper documentation.
• Adheres to quality control protocols, analyzes data, and resolves out-of-range results promptly.
• Operates and maintains laboratory instruments; performs preventative maintenance and communicates issues.
• Demonstrates proficiency with laboratory computer systems for data entry and reporting.
• Collects, processes, and documents chain-of-custody urine drug screens as required.
• Ensures compliance with PPE and safety regulations in all tasks.
• Assists with phlebotomy duties and collaborates with team members to complete tasks.
• Maintains accurate records and statistical data in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains regular attendance.
