Job summary

Bon Secours is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician I (MLT) for Southampton Medical Center on a PRN basis. The MLS/MLT performs routine tests on blood and other specimens, delivering accurate results to clinicians while ensuring patient safety and confidentiality.

Candidates should have an AS in MLT or equivalent, with certification and two years of clinical lab experience preferred. The role emphasizes quality control, proper equipment use, and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital lab.

Qualifications

• Associates of Science in Medical Lab Technology (MLS) or equivalent.
• 60 semester hours including chemistry and biology and completion of an MLT program.
• Completed a 50-week U.S. military medical laboratory training course within the past ten years.

Responsibilities

• Performs analytical tests on biological specimens, accurately and efficiently.
• Determines acceptability of specimens by inspection or recognizing abnormal results.
• Recognizes factors that affect measurements and acts per protocols.
• Performs quality control for all testing and ensures results meet established ranges.
• Maintains safe, efficient work environment through equipment checks and cleaning.
• Other duties as assigned.
