Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) at Mary Immaculate Hospital in Newport News, Virginia. The MLS will perform routine tests on blood and tissue specimens, validate results, and support physicians with accurate reporting while upholding patient safety and privacy.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field, and MLS certification or eligibility (ASCP preferred).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology or Biochemistry from a CLIA-approved program (required)
• Licensing/Certification: MLT or eligible (ASCP preferred) (required)
• Externship program completed (preferred)

Responsabilités

• Perform routine analytical tests on blood, tissues and body specimens
• Provide physicians with quality results using clinical laboratory equipment
• Maintain patient safety and anonymity; ensure compliance with lab procedures
• Conduct quality control and ensure results meet established ranges
• Troubleshoot equipment and maintain a safe work environment
