Job summary

Bon Secours is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician II (MLT) for the St. Francis Eastside location to perform routine tests on blood, tissues and other specimens and to provide physicians with accurate results using diverse clinical lab equipment.

The role requires 3 years of technical lab experience, an MLT-related education, and certification eligibility (ASCP preferred); RSFH rules apply for certification within 12 months if registry eligible.

Qualifications

• Must have one of the following education paths for MLT (MLT degree or equivalent).
• Three years of technical experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Certification: MLT Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP preferred) or eligible; RSFH requires certification within 12 months if registry eligible.

Responsibilities

• Performs analytical tests on biological specimens in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner.
• Determines acceptability of specimens by visual inspection or recognizing abnormal/unusual results.
• Recognizes factors that affect measurements and acts per protocols.
• Performs quality control and ensures results meet established ranges.
• Maintains a safe and efficient work environment; checks equipment and troubleshoots issues.
• Other duties as assigned.
