Job summary

Bon Secours is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to perform routine tests on blood, tissues, and body specimens with a focus on accurate results and patient safety. You will operate clinical laboratory equipment and collaborate with physicians to deliver reliable results while ensuring a secure, compliant work environment.

This role requires a BS in a qualifying field and MLS certification or eligibility, with externship preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology or Biochemistry through a CLIA approved program (required).
• MLS Certification or eligible by a recognized agency (ASCP preferred) (required).
• Externship completed (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs analytical tests on biological specimens in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner per laboratory procedures.
• Determines acceptability of specimens by visual inspection or by recognizing abnormal results.
• Recognizes factors affecting measurements and takes appropriate action per protocols.
• Performs quality control for all testing and ensures results meet established ranges before release.
• Maintains a safe and efficient work environment by equipment checks, cleaning, and temperature monitoring.
