Job summary

Advocate Health's 60437 IL ACL Laboratories - Christ: Core Lab is hiring for a Medical Technologist/MLS to perform and monitor lab tests, ensure quality control, and support multiple disciplines. The role includes training staff and maintaining equipment in a fast-paced setting. Full-time day shift from 6:00 a.m.

to 2:30 p.m., with rotating weekends and holidays. Minimum education requirements include a Bachelor's in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, with ASCP/AMT certifications pursued within 1

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests as authorized within established protocols.
• Evaluates results for clinical significance, validity and appropriateness.
• Performs calibration, maintenance and repair of instruments and equipment.
• Performs and reviews quality control and quality assurance for improvement.
• Collects specimens from newborn, pediatric, and adult patients according to protocol.
• Provides training and guidance to staff and students.
• Implements quality improvement and ensures compliance with accrediting standards.
• Performs proficiency testing and supports various laboratory disciplines.
• Supports critical care departments with timely results during high acuity events.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate care across patient lifespan.
