Job summary

Advocate Health's 60440 IL ACL Laboratories – Christ: Transfusion is seeking a part-time Medical Laboratory Technician for 3rd shift (start times 10:00 p.m. or 10:30 p.m.) and a 24-hour work week.

You will perform and monitor tests, ensure proper specimen labeling, and support a fast-paced clinical environment including critical care services. Requires a Bachelor’s degree (NAACLS‑accredited Medical Technology program) or equivalent; no prior experience required.

Qualifications

• Education required: Bachelor’s degree or NAACLS‑accredited Medical Technology program in a science-related field.
• Experience: No experience required.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs, evaluates and monitors laboratory tests per established protocols; adjusts workflow to complete tasks timely.
• Documents calibration, maintenance and repair of instruments; identifies malfunctions and applies corrections.
• Performs quality control and quality assurance activities and initiates corrective actions when needed.
• Ensures proper labeling and suitability of specimens; collects specimens from newborns to adults as required.
