Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform laboratory analysis on received specimens, providing clinical information for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases. The role emphasizes overall quality, efficiency, and safety in the execution of assigned technical tasks.

The position is full-time with day shift, rotating weekends, and offers eligibility for sign-on and relocation assistance; a supportive team environment with an emphasis on operating excellence.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MT, MLS, CLT, CLS) by a recognized board or eligible to register within 12 months.
• High School or GED diploma with a Baccalaureate degree including science coursework as specified.
• Core Lab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs, reviews, and reports complex laboratory tests following prescribed procedures.
• Operates and maintains equipment; manages workflow and quality control.
• Analyzes results, troubleshoots QC issues, and communicates with supervisors or pathologists as needed.
• Assists in training new employees and supports safety and inventory management.
• Maintains confidentiality and adheres to hospital procedures.
