Job summary

Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to perform routine and specialty laboratory tests, calibrate instruments, and ensure accurate reporting of results. The role requires attention to clinical significance and adherence to quality standards.

The position requires a Bachelor's/Associate degree in CLS/MT, ASCP certification, and at least one year of high/moderate complexity experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in a clinical laboratory science or medical technology program from an accredited program.
• Current MLS/MT (ASCP) registration or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of laboratory experience in high/moderate complexity testing.
• Ability to solve technical and interdepartmental problems related to the various Laboratory areas and take corrective action.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and special laboratory tests and report results.
• Evaluate results for clinical significance and notify as required.
• Calibrate, maintain, and repair instruments; recognize malfunctions.
• Perform quality control and assurance and take corrective actions as needed.
• Participate in proficiency testing and provide specialty testing in chemistry, hematology, and coagulation.
