Job summary

Rush University Medical Center is seeking a Patient Service Specialist at our West Hartford outpatient center. You will greet and register patients, provide visit information, and help manage both patient and operational aspects of the front desk.

This PRN role offers Weekdays, Monday through Friday, with compensation of $17.00-$20.00 per hour. Primary duties include scheduling, collecting co-pays, coordinating with insurers, and ensuring a smooth patient experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year front desk experience preferred.
• Insurance verification experience preferred.
• 1 year medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients and inform them about visit expectations and appointments.
• Schedule patient appointments in person and by phone.
• Coordinate with attorneys, insurers, translation services; support operations and business development.
• Collect co-pays, manage payer approvals, and perform insurance verifications.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients and provide information about what to expect during their visit and information about their next appointment as they check out
• Schedule patient appointments in person and via phone
• Regular communication with parties such as attorney offices, insurance companies and translation companies, market operational leaders, and business development team
• Collect co-pays from patients, manage payer approvals, and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications

Qualifications

Minimum:

• High School Diploma or GED

Preferred:

• 1 Year Front Desk experience
• Insurance Verfication Experience
• 1 Year of Medical Office Experience
