Job summary

Select Medical in New Bern, NC is seeking a Patient Service Specialist to greet and register patients, explain visit flow, and coordinate appointments at our outpatient physical therapy center. You will help create a welcoming and efficient experience for every patient as they check in and plan their next visit.

You will also handle co-pays, verify insurance, schedule visits, and communicate with attorneys, insurers, and care teams to support smooth operations and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Health Care Experience is required or preferred.
• 1 Year of Medical Office Experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients and provide information about what to expect during their visit and information about their next appointment as they check out.
• Schedule patient appointments in person and via phone.
• Regular communication with parties such as attorney offices, insurance companies and translation companies, market operational leaders, and business development team.
• Collect co-pays from patients, manage payer approvals, and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications.

Schedule: Weekdays - 8am to 5pm

Compensation: Starting at $16/hour (pending experience)
