Job summary

Select Medical operates outpatient physical therapy centers and is seeking a Patient Service Specialist in Hoover, AL. You will greet patients, register them, and guide them through visits and checkout processes, while handling scheduling and payer communications.

The role emphasizes front-desk service, appointment coordination, and coordination with insurers to ensure smooth patient experiences and accurate payments. Training and full-time hours are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of front desk experience.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Insurance verification experience preferred.
• 1 year of medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients and provide information about what to expect during their visit and their next appointment as they check out.
• Schedule patient appointments in person and via phone.
• Maintain regular communication with attorneys, insurance companies and translation services, and coordinate with operational leaders and business development team.
• Collect co-pays, manage payer approvals and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications.

Schedule: Weekdays (40 hours weekly between 7am to 6pm)

Compensation: Starting at $16/hour (Pending experience)
