Job summary

Select Medical in Hueytown, AL is seeking a Patient Service Specialist to greet patients, register and guide them through visits, and handle scheduling and front-desk duties at our outpatient physical therapy center.

This full-time role requires reliable transportation for travel between centers in the greater Birmingham area and offers mentorship, paid time off, medical/vision/dental coverage, and company-matching 401(k).

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED; 1 year front desk experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Health care experience; insurance verification experience; 1 year medical office experience.

Responsibilities

Position: Patient Service Specialist

Location: Hueytown, AL

Type of Employment: Full Time (FLOAT)

Schedule: Weekdays (40 hours weekly between 7am to 6pm)

Compensation: Starting at $16/hour (Pending experience)

• This position requires traveling between centers in the greater Birmingham area.***
• Reliable transportation and a clean driving record is preferred.***

• Greet and register patients and provide information about what to expect during their visit and information about their next appointment as they check out

• Regular communication with parties such as attorney offices, insurance companies and translation companies, market operational leaders and business development team
• Collect co-pays from patients, manage payer approvals and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications
