Job summary

Select Medical in Columbus, OH is seeking a Patient Service Specialist to join our outpatient physical therapy center. This per diem, PRN role supports front desk operations, greeting patients, registering them, and guiding their visit from check-in to checkout.

Responsibilities include scheduling in person and by phone, coordinating with insurance providers, collecting co-pays, and handling authorizations and verifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preference for 1 year front desk experience.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and patient service skills.

Type of Employment: Per Diem, PRN (no guarenteed hours)
Schedule: Weekdays, as needed
Compensation: $16.00 - $19.00/hour (pending experience)

As a patient service specialist, you’ll manage both the patient side and the business side of our center. • Greet and register patients and provide information about what to expect during their visit and information about their next appointment as they check out
• Schedule patient appointments in person and via phone
• Regular communication with parties such as attorney offices, insurance companies and translation companies, market operational leaders, and business development team
• Collect co-pays from patients, manage payer approvals, and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications

Minimum

• High School Diploma or GED

• 1 Year Front Desk experience
