Job summary

Select Medical in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Patient Service Specialist to join our outpatient physical therapy center. You’ll be the first point of contact, helping patients check in, schedule visits, and guide them through the visit process.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, scheduling in person and by phone, coordinating with insurers and attorneys, and collecting co-pays while handling payer approvals and verifications. This role emphasizes accuracy and empathy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of front desk experience.
• At least 1 year of medical office experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients and provide information about what to expect during their visit and information about their next appointment as they check out.
• Schedule patient appointments in person and via phone.
• Regular communication with parties such as attorney offices, insurance companies and translation companies, market operational leaders and business development team.
• Collect co-pays from patients, manage payer approvals and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications.

Position: Patient Service Specialist

Location: Charlottesville, VA

Type of Employment: Full time

Schedule: Monday/Wednesday/Friday (8am to 4:30pm) & Tuesday/Thursday (10:30am to 7pm)

Compensation: $18-$19/hour - (Pending experience)
