Qualifications include a high school diploma, coding course completion, and 1 year of hospital/physician coding experience; RHIT/RHIA or CPC credentials are preferred.

Qualifikationen

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology coding courses.
• 1 year hospital/physician coding experience.
• 1 year coding in mid-level facilities or clinics.
• 1 year coding major surgeries, observations or E/Ms.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 CM and CPT coding guidelines.
• RHIT/RHIA/CCS-P/CPC/COC or CPC-A credentials are preferred.

Aufgaben

• Review and interpret medical information to assign ICD-10 CM/CPT codes.
• Abstract data elements to satisfy statistical requests and enter into systems.
• Manage unbilled coding reports to support cash flow.
• Stay updated on ICD-10 CM/CPT changes and implement in daily work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
