Allegheny Health Network seeks a skilled Medical Records Coder to perform thorough record review, interpret diagnoses and procedures, and assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes to support accurate billing and reporting.

You will abstract data for hospital and medical staff requests, ensure timely unbilled cash-flow, and stay current with ICD-10-CM/CPT updates through training and reference materials and collaboration with the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• High School/GED and completed coding courses in anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
• 1 year hospital and/or physician coding experience.
• 1 year coding at mid-level facilities or clinics.
• 1 year coding major surgeries, observations and/or E/Ms.
• Medical Terminology and strong data entry skills.
• Understanding of computer applications and ability to work with healthcare team.
• Bonafide certifications listed (RHIT/RHIA/CCS-P/CPC/COC/CPC-A).

Responsabilités

• Reviews and interprets medical information to assign ICD-10-CM/CPT codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Abstracts data elements for statistical requests and enters data into the designated system.
• Manages unbilled coding reports to support cash flow efficiency.
• Keeps up with ICD-10-CM/CPT updates by training and reviewing resources and applies changes daily.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
