Cooper Norcross Health is seeking an outpatient coder to support Revenue Cycle goals with accurate coding of ICD-10-CM/PCS and HCPCS CPT codes. The role requires 0-2 years of outpatient coding experience and RHIA/RHIT/CAC or similar certification eligibility.

Responsibilities include reviewing medical records, ensuring proper code assignment, and maintaining compliance to drive appropriate reimbursements. Collaboration with CDI and coding leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years experience in outpatient Coding.
• High School or GED Required.
• Health Information Management / Coding / Billing Preferred.
• Credential in good standing with AHIMA or AAPC.
• New graduate, candidate close to graduation, candidate eligible for certification.
• Those employed prior to 01/01/2021 were required to have an RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or other appropriate certification.
• Those hired after are required to have an RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, CPC, CIC, COC, CPC, or any specialty credential accredited by AHIMA or AAPC within one year of hire.

Responsabilités

• Code outpatient services using ICD-10-CM and PCS, HCPCS including CPT and other coding references.
• Address NCCI, OCE, LCD and other coding edits as applicable.
• Examine the complete medical record to determine principal & secondary diagnoses, procedures, and complications.
• Accurately sequence diagnoses & procedures and assign ICD-10 and CPT Codes.
• Perform charge reconciliation to ensure submitted charges are posted accurately and reimbursement is proper.
