Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required; an Associate Degree in a medical area is preferred.
• Two years of outpatient coding experience is required; six months of HCC experience is preferred.
• Licenses/certifications required include CCS, CPC, RHIT, RHIA, CMC, or CCA.

Responsibilities

• Assign codes for diagnoses, treatments, and procedures per ICD-10-CM, CPT-4; ensure accurate modifiers.
• Review documentation to extract data for billing, reporting, research, and regulatory compliance.
• Adhere to AHIMA standards and official coding guidelines.
