CHS Career Site is seeking an Outpatient Coder to accurately assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for outpatient services, including ED visits, outpatient procedures, and interventional radiology. The role requires adherence to coding guidelines, LCD/NCD requirements, and corporate policies to support proper reimbursement and data integrity.

The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of outpatient coding experience in an acute care setting, proficiency with EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech),

Qualifikationen

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Associate degree in Health Information Management or Medical Coding preferred.
• One year coding certification in Health Information Management preferred.
• 1-3 years of outpatient coding experience in an acute care setting required.
• Experience coding ED visits, outpatient procedures, interventional radiology and ambulatory surgery preferred.

Aufgaben

• Review and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for outpatient records.
• Ensure compliance with LCD/NCD and payer-specific policies.
• Resolve coding edits and denials, maintaining compliance with standards.
• Maintain coding productivity and accuracy targets (95%+).
• Collaborate with CDI and billing teams to ensure accurate documentation.
• Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security rules.
• Utilize hospital coding software to ensure accuracy.
