Qualifications

• One year's experience with insurance billing and/or medical collections.
• Experience with medical terminology.
• Proficient in English written and spoken.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Verifies insurance and communicates with carriers for reimbursement.
• Performs daily cash close out procedures and balance cash.
• Maintains knowledge of copays, deductibles, and workers’ compensation protocols for billing accuracy.
• Promotes customer satisfaction with professional communication.
• Keeps clinic policy knowledge up to date and applies it to daily operations.
• Answers telephones and routes messages to maintain workflow.
• Organizes files/records to ensure confidentiality and efficiency.
• Inputs demographic and medical data accurately and assists with financial counseling when appropriate.
• Fulfills additional duties assigned by the Clinic Manager and achieves set goals.
