Job summary

Baptist is seeking a Billing Specialist to support insurance billing and patient accounts in a clinic setting. You will verify insurance, process billing entries, and reconcile cash daily to support accurate financial records.

The role requires familiarity with insurance terminology, accurate data entry, and the ability to communicate clearly with carriers and patients while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications

• One year's current experience with insurance billing and/or medical collection and medical terminology.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English, both written and spoken.
• Associates Degree or collegiate/medical trade completion preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verifies insurance and communicates with carriers for reimbursement purposes.
• Performs daily and monthly close out procedures for internal controls and cash balancing.
• Maintains knowledge of co-pays, deductibles, and workers' compensation protocols for accurate billing.
• Promotes customer satisfaction with a professional demeanor in all interactions.
• Possesses knowledge of corporate policies and procedures as they relate to clinic operations.
• Answers phones, takes and directs messages to maintain workflow.
• Keeps files and records neat and confidential to support efficient operations.
• Inputs demographic and medical data, collects fees, and assists with financial counseling when appropriate.
• Completes any other duties assigned by the Clinic Manager and achieves assigned goals.
