Job summary

Frontier Direct is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team in Texas. You will educate members on their Frontier membership, work alongside paired PCPs to deliver quality care, and coordinate with outside providers to ensure smooth patient care.

You will perform vitals, ECG/EKGs, phlebotomy, IV procedures and assist in-office procedures as needed. You will welcome patients, conduct follow-ups, and communicate with members via phone, text, and email to tailor the member experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Experience working in a clinic setting.
• Experience providing care to patients of all ages, including pediatrics.
• Proficient at performing ECG/EKG, phlebotomy, IVs, and injections; onsite skills assessment required.
• Extensive experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR/EMR) systems.
• Active BLS certification or ability to obtain.
• Adaptable and open to change in process and technology.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

• Educate and empower members on how to use their Frontier membership.
• Work with paired PCPs to provide care to assigned patient panel.
• Coordinate provider needs related to patient care to support success.
• Coordinate with contracted outside service providers (imaging, labs, specialists).
• Perform vitals, phlebotomy, ECG/EKG, IV procedures; assist in in-office procedures.
• Welcome members to the clinic and reassure them they are in good hands.
• Conduct regular follow-ups to ensure members feel cared for and supported in the medical system.
• Communicate with patients by phone, text, and email to customize the member experience.
• Restock exam rooms and manage inventory of supplies, instruments, and equipment.
• Represent the medical facility at community events and health fairs.
