Job summary

Frontier is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team in Austin. You will educate members, work with PCPs to care for assigned patients, and coordinate with external providers to support quality care.

You’ll perform vitals, phlebotomy, IVs, injections, and assist with in-office procedures while ensuring a welcoming patient experience. You’ll also handle follow-ups, personal communication with patients, and help restock exam rooms and maintain a clean, organized clinic environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Experience in a clinic setting.
• Experience with patients of all ages, including pediatrics.
• Proficient in ECG, phlebotomy, IVs, and injections.
• Experience with EHR/EMR systems.
• Active BLS certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Educate and empower members on how they can use their Frontier membership.
• Work with paired PCPs to provide care to assigned patient panels.
• Coordinate provider needs to support patient care and success.
• Coordinate with outside service providers (imaging, labs, specialists).
• Perform vitals, phlebotomy, IVs, and injections.
• Assist with in-office procedures to ensure smooth patient care.
• Welcome members to the clinic and reassure them they are in good hands.
• Conduct follow-ups to ensure patients feel cared for and supported.
• Communicate with patients by phone, text, and email to personalize care.
• Restock exam rooms and manage inventory; maintain clinic cleanliness.
• Represent the facility at community events and health fairs.
