Job summary

Hometown Urgent Care in Columbus, OH is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in a fast-paced urgent care setting. You will collect patient histories, take vital signs, perform basic tests, draw blood, and help with injections and documentation.

This role emphasizes patient care, HIPAA compliance, and teamwork. The position requires 1–2 years in a clinic, CPR certification, and proficiency with EMR systems. Regular travel to regional care centers is possible with weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years experience in a physician practice or clinic.
• Basic computer skills and EMR familiarity.
• Ability to work with HIPAA guidelines and protect patient privacy.
• CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take patient history and obtain vital signs.
• Perform basic testing: vision, audio, urine screens, EKGs, PFTs.
• Perform phlebotomy for lab samples.
• Complete paperwork for lab tests accurately.
• Administer injections and document per policy.
• Conduct point-of-care testing: strep, flu, glucose, UA.
• Dispense and document medications and treatments.
• Maintain sterile technique and autoclave use.
• Schedule records for ancillary care and referrals.
• Travel to care centers within designated region.
