Job summary

Hometown Urgent Care in Ohio is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians with patient histories, vital signs, basic testing, phlebotomy, and exam assistance while upholding HIPAA and patient comfort.

Responsibilities include EMR data entry, room preparation, scheduling referrals, coordinating care across centers, and reminders for CPR certification. Aiming for 1–2 years clinic experience and independent, professional judgment in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years experience in a physician practice or clinic preferred.
• Basic computer skills including use of EMR systems.
• Ability to function independently with good clinical judgment and discretion.
• CPR certification required and maintainable.

Responsibilities

• Take patient history and obtain vital signs.
• Perform basic testing and screenings (vision, audio, EKGs, etc.).
• Perform phlebotomy for lab samples.
• Complete paperwork for lab tests and documentation.
• Assist providers during exams and testing.
• Register patients and explain insurances and pricing.
• Maintain exam rooms and sterilization; ensure equipment works.
