Job summary

Marathon Health in Springfield, IL is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our care team and support a primary care physician. You will manage front desk duties and clinical tasks, ensuring a smooth patient flow and outstanding guest experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or related program.
• National or state MA certification or registration is strongly preferred; required where applicable.
• CPR/BLS certification required at start date.
• Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to room and ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked.
• Review patient information and gather relevant health data for the provider.
• Take vitals, perform venipuncture when needed, assist with procedures.
• Prepare and administer medications and immunizations as directed.
• Coordinate patient care with the team and address gaps in care.
• Handle front desk duties: scheduling, records requests, referrals, and check-in/out.
• Document patient data accurately in the medical record.
• Process test results and communicate findings to patients as instructed.
• Participate in outreach to engage eligible patient groups.
• Maintain supplies and equipment for treatments.

Education

Medical Assistant program completion

CPR/BLS certification
